The issue of lifting sanctions against Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov has been raised in the United States.
The case has become relevant against the background of changes in international politics and possible warming of relations between Russia and the United States. Chemezov was first placed on the US sanctions list in April 2014 as «a key member of the Russian leadership’s inner circle», and the re-imposition occurred in March 2022.
Artem Zhavoronkov, Nordic Star Law Offices partner, noted that the expression «No harm asking» (attempt is not torture) may explain the desire of some parties to raise this issue on the agenda.
