10 thousand subscribers may bring content creators to Roskomnadzor’s register
Bloggers with an audience of more than 10 thousand subscribers may be required to undergo verification and submit data about themselves to Roskomnadzor’s register, according to amendments to the law approved by the relevant State Duma committee. Without verification, bloggers will effectively lose the ability to earn money from advertising and donations. In addition, all users will be banned from reposting articles from unverified sites. Experts admit that such a tightening, if adopted, will lead to an exodus of bloggers to foreign social networks.
