By the end of 2024, the flow of deals involving the exit of “unfriendly” companies had virtually dried up. However, with Russian or “friendly” companies occupying the niches left by foreigners, the role of emergency regulation did not end. Special rules will affect both those who have successfully acquired an unfriendly asset and those who plan to make money from its resale or attract investors.
In a new article for the magazine “Akcionernoye Obschestvo”, German Azarov, an Associate in the corporate practice at Nordic Star Law Offices, analyses certain issues that companies may face when concluding transactions and managing assets previously owned by unfriendly persons, and also considers possible ways to reduce the related risks.
