Russian investors are gradually shifting their interest from the familiar United Arab Emirates to Oman, which is beginning to be perceived as a more reliable alternative, especially with regard to international settlements. The number of requests for company registration, opening bank accounts and obtaining resident visas in Oman is growing every day.
Andrey Gusev, Senior Partner at Nordic Star, explained the reasons for these changes.
“Sanctions play an important role: in recent months, banks in the UAE have become less loyal to Russian clients, blocking accounts and terminating services without explanation. Meanwhile, Oman remains neutral, not joining the sanctions against Russia and not experiencing significant pressure from the West”, – says Andrei.
