Western companies that have left Russia are losing their rights to domestic trademarks en masse. In the last month alone, the Intellectual Property Court has made five such decisions, including one concerning the trademark of the Swedish company Ericsson. According to the law, unused trademarks can be cancelled after 3 years. And the courts ignore foreigners’ arguments about unfriendly Russian actions.
