According to the research of “Delovoy Petersburg”, in the first half of the year, the top 3 requests from businesses in the Northern capital to lawyers included questions related to intellectual property (IP).
The set of questions is quite classic. For example, a request for comprehensive protection of a brand or disputes about the illegal use of copyright objects.
“SMEs have definitely become more attentive to the protection of IP. This is facilitated by the growth of legal culture in this area as a whole: entrepreneurs see more examples of litigation and are aware of the risks,” comments Daria Bitkina, an associate in the Intellectual Property and Information Technology practice at Nordic Star Law Offices.
