The reorientation of Russian business to the markets of friendly countries – China, India, the UAE, Turkey – has given rise to a “migration” of debtors: domestic companies are increasingly seeking money collection services from counterparties in these jurisdictions. By 2025, the number of requests from legal entity clients has increased sharply compared to the figures before 2022.
“If earlier these were isolated disputes of large players, now medium-sized businesses are also actively applying. There are no official statistics, but the number of such cases in practice has increased several times over,” says Anna Zabrotskaya, Managing Partner at Nordic Star in Russia.
