Last week, a “Dialogue of the Firsts” took place with Andrei Gusev, resident of “Club First” and Managing Partner at Borenius Russia.
Andrei spent more than two hours discussing with the participants of “Club First” one type of globalization – the diktat of the English legal system to international business. This is the kind of globalization whereby an entrepreneur involved in virtually any major project will, undoubtedly, face English law and English tribunals – even if such projects have no connection with the UK.
Andrei discussed with participants the manifestations of England’s legal neo-colonialism, using, as examples, the court cases of Boris Berezovsky vs Roman Abramovich, Alexander Tugushev vs Vitaly Orlov (Norebo) and several others. The conversation also touched on topics such as criminal prosecutions and extradition requests, extradition methods and the role of Interpol.
Club First is Russia’s largest business community for executives and business owners. It was established at the initiative of SberFirst,
